Brief description
In this course, the participants will be aware of the importance of intercultural and intergenerational communication strategies. We will focus our reflection on the impact of this (trans)communication for building communities of the commons.
General Aim
- To promote critical thinking about how media discourses could contribute to building social representations and imaginaries, reinforcing sterotypes, prejudices, and behaviors of discrimination.
- To provide strategies to offer resistances to hegemonic media messages.

- Ability to elaborate a critical position about media role in the construction of social representations and imaginaries.
- Ability to identify stereotypes in media discourse and have a clear understanding of their influences in public opinion.
- Ability to deconstruct imaginaries and offer alternative narratives.
Brief description
The lesson focuses on the role of mass media in the construction of social representations and imaginaries of minorities, the transmission of stereotypes and prejudices and the influence in the construction of public opinion.
General Aim
To show how creative music practices my play a role in fostering creativity, communication and participation of people of different ages and backgrounds. To enable students to critically engage with issues of effective implementation of participatory music projects in various contexts.

- Grasp the breadth and the core features of participatory music practices
- Understand how participatory music practices may resist their neoliberal misappropriation
- Understand how music making may function within the commons philosophy
- Identify emerging challenges and risks
Brief description
The lesson focuses on the power of music and music creative practices to foster participation, inclusion and communication. After briefly referring to core features of musical and cultural contexts of participatory music practices, we critically engage with specific examples of participatory music projects.
